Creating things that matter, just for goodness sake.
When it comes to design, I love and prioritize two things - to create with joy and to create products I believe in, for people I believe in. For Goodness Sake is centered around these values.
Through For Goodness Sake, I provide full or partial funding by dedicating design hours towards meaningful projects that do not have the budget to meet my standard rates.
I know that finances can be a limiting factor for many organizations or individuals just starting out, that a good idea can only go so far without the funds to back it up. As a freelancer, I get it. It’s a constant juggling act of what I want to do, what I should do, and what I can do. But as someone who cares deeply about the work they put out into the world, my hope is that by reducing some of the financial barriers, together we can create things that matter.

Every collaboration goes through the same start-to-finish process, whether you receive funding or not. If we determine we’re a good fit, we can move on to the design phase. Simple as that!

My pro bono hours don’t differ from my paid hours. Every project goes through the same start to finish process. Learn more about my process here.

I do not provide copyediting, content creation, business / marketing strategy, or package design.

The ideal candidate is an organization or individual who:
Is excited to collaborate and work together throughout the design process.
Has final content and is ready for the design stage.
Is passionate and excited about what they do and can't wait to tell the world about it.
Is committed to putting in the time to bring their project to life.

Sometimes partnerships aren’t meant to be and that’s OK. We may not be a good fit if:
You need something done urgently. I understand that some projects need designers that can design on demand. I’m not that designer. I wish it wasn’t so, but I know the quality of my work suffers when under extreme deadlines. However, I do spend a lot of time crafting a realistic schedule that works for both the creative process and any time sensitivities you may have.
You already have a design in mind and you want a designer to make it. Your design direction is essential throughout the design process, however I also need some freedom to generate creative ideas, have fun and do what I do best - design.
You don’t like my design aesthetic. This sounds obvious, but it’s not. If your desired look and feel is professional with a vibrant, whimsy and imaginative twist, we’d make a great team! If you’re looking for a more streamlined, sleek and elegant style, my design aesthetic may not be for you.
You don’t have final content. I firmly believe in content first, design second. This doesn’t mean you can’t make last minute changes during the design process (this happens on 100% of my projects), but you’re happy with a bulk of the content. If your content isn’t quite ready, don’t worry. Reach out when you’re finished and I’ll be here.

It’s simple. All I ask is that you’re honest and transparent about your budget. After an initial design consultation, I will evaluate the estimated no. of hours needed to complete the project, and see if that aligns with my schedule/bandwidth and your budget needs.
